In 2022, the first-ever Scottish Masters IPSC Level 3 Shotgun match took place, hosted by Recoil Scotland at their extensive range facilities near Shotts, North Lanarkshire. The event was a resounding success, and the Master’s Team is excited to bring an even bigger and better match to participants in 2023.

Recoil Scotland’s site currently boasts 11 shooting areas, with the potential for further development. The 2023 match will feature 14 stages, all completed within a single day. The match has already received sanction from IPSC, and the course of fire has been approved.

An international range crew is in place, with 10 overseas Match Officials among the 30-plus-strong team to help run the match smoothly. Last year, participants enjoyed a pirate ship stage; this year, they can look forward to a helicopter, a fort, and a stage based on the legendary Loch Ness Monster, Nessie.

Recoil Scotland is delighted to announce that Magload will be the match sponsor, contributing £700 worth of vouchers to the prize table. Additional sponsors include the UKPSA Ladies project, which will fund a dedicated portable toilet for female attendees, and the NTSA, sponsoring a stage. Stay tuned for more stage sponsor announcements.

Shotts is conveniently located in Scotland’s Central Belt, between Glasgow and Edinburgh, making it easy to combine the match with a holiday to explore the two cities and other nearby attractions. Although the match is filling up, there’s still room for more entries. To register or find out more, check out the calendar entry below.
