The 2022 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XIX was held recently in Thailand at the TPSA’s brand-new range facility in Pattaya. The match hosted 1345 competitors from 73 different countries and was the 19th event in a long-running series dating back to 1975.

IPSC Handgun as a sport has always proven to be a difficult path to follow due to the equipment required to compete being banned in Great Britain since 1997.  Nevertheless, where there is a will there is a way and this year a young competitor named Sasha Mikhailov has achieved something not seen on the scoreboard in decades. Despite all the barriers in training Sasha has had to face he still manages to compete at the very highest level and come away with a podium finish in the Production Division in the Super Junior Category, earning a Bronze medal and third place.

We would like to congratulate Sasha on his continued success and one day hopefully as an association be able to support him domestically on his further development.
